About us

AXTECH: Next level engineering

AXTech is a Norwegian engineering company specialising in heavy lifting and material handling equipment for demanding offshore and marine operations.

From our headquarters in Molde, we've grown to nearly 100 dedicated people who share one goal: to engineer lifting solutions the world has never seen before.

Built on guts and knowledge

AXTech was founded in 2004 by a team of senior engineers with extensive experience in offshore lifting equipment. They saw an opportunity to do things differently by combining deep technical expertise with the courage to take on challenges others wouldn't touch.

From day one, we've kept all critical engineering competence in-house. While others outsource, we build multidisciplinary teams under one roof. At AXTech mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and control system engineers works together from concept to commissioning.

This approach has taken us from a small Molde-based startup to an international engineering company with nearly 100 employees across offices in Norway and Poland. We've delivered equipment for some of the world's most demanding offshore operations. You find our solutions from subsea installations to the world's deepest production fields.

With complete control of our intellectual property and in-house capabilities across all disciplines, we deliver systems that perform when it matters most. Whether it´s for subsea lifting, floating production, cable laying or offshore renewables.

Engineered to order, built for performance

Every AXTech solution is custom engineered for its specific mission. We don't sell off-the-shelf products; we solve unique problems. Our process starts early. We get involved in feasibility studies, challenge assumptions, and work closely with customers to understand what needs to happen.

Then we engineer equipment that makes it possible. We handle the complete lifecycle:

  • Concept design and feasibility studies

  • Detailed engineering and analysis

  • Fabrication management and quality control

  • Vessel integration and commissioning

  • Sea trials and performance verification

  • Operational support and maintenance

Commitment drives us forward

AXTech's reputation is built on delivering what the industry hasn't seen before:

  • The world's first 420-tonne subsea module handling system operating in HS 4.5

  • 850-tonne buoy pull-in systems for the deepest production fields - Innovative maintenance solutions for floating wind turbines

  • 1000-tonne LARS systems for subsea recovery

  • 3000 +2000 square meters movable floor systems for state-of-the-art marine test basins

  • Modular tower systems for light well intervention (RLWI) and inspection, maintenance & repair (IMR) operations from a floating vessel.

We hold patents on breakthrough technologies like MRPC (variable buoyancy control) and Tectrans (offshore crew transfer systems).

It's about solving real problems with engineered solutions that work. Every project is an opportunity to push boundaries. Every system we deliver builds confidence in the operations we support. That's next-level lifting and handling.

Where we`re from, shapes what we build

Our headquarters in Molde sits on Norway's west coast, close to some of the world's most challenging offshore operations. This isn't just geography. It's shaped who we are. The maritime and offshore culture here runs deep. Our people understand harsh conditions, complex operations, and the importance of equipment that simply works.

Many of our engineers have decades of offshore experience and bring that knowledge to every design decision.

Today, we operate from three locations, but Molde remains our home base—and the foundation of everything we build.
